IEEE IHTC 2025: Registration Fee Waiver for Students from Indigenous Communities and Eligible Regions/Countries
The IEEE International Humanitarian Technology Conference (IHTC) 2025 is dedicated to advancing technology for humanitarian purposes and promoting global participation. In line with this mission, we are pleased to offer registration fee waivers to eligible student authors from indigenous communities and designated regions/countries.
Eligibility Criteria:
To qualify for a registration fee waiver, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Student Status:
- Be a currently enrolled student (undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral) at an accredited academic institution.
- Paper/Poster Presentation:
- Be a presenting author of an accepted paper or poster at the IEEE IHTC 2025.
- Indigenous Identity or Regional/National Eligibility:
- Indigenous Applicants:
- Provide documentation or a statement verifying their affiliation with a recognized indigenous community.
- Eligible Regions/Countries:
- Be a student at an institution located in a country or region designated as eligible. The list of eligible countries/regions will be determined based on factors such as:
- World Bank classifications of low and lower-middle-income economies.
- Regions with historically underrepresented participation in IEEE IHTC conferences.
- Consideration of regions that are facing significant humanitarian challenges.

- Indigenous Applicants:
- Demonstrated Financial Need:
- Provide a concise statement outlining the financial constraints that would prevent attendance without a fee waiver.
Application Process:
- Paper/Poster Submission:
- Submit your paper or poster through the standard IEEE IHTC 2025 submission system.
- Fee Waiver Application:
- Upon receiving notification of paper/poster acceptance (within 1 week, i.e by June 27, 2025), complete the dedicated fee waiver application materials, including the following:
- Proof of student status (e.g., student ID, official letter from the institution).
- A copy of the paper/poster acceptance notification.
- Documentation or a statement of indigenous affiliation (if applicable).
- Confirmation of enrollment at an institution in an eligible country/region.
- A statement of financial need.
- Upon receiving notification of paper/poster acceptance (within 1 week, i.e by June 27, 2025), complete the dedicated fee waiver application materials, including the following:
Put all materials in a single PDF file and send it to ihtc2025@gmail.com in an email titled “IHTC 2025 Waiver Program Application-FirstName LastName”.
- Review and Selection:
- The IEEE IHTC 2025 organizing committee will review applications based on the stated criteria.
- Priority will be given to applicants demonstrating the greatest need and alignment with the conference’s humanitarian technology focus.
- Notification:
- Applicants will be notified of the application outcome via email by July 4.
Important Notes:
- Due to budgetary constraints, the number of available fee waivers is limited.
- The waiver covers the conference registration fee only.
- Applicants are encouraged to apply promptly after receiving acceptance notifications.
- Eligibility for discounts is based on the World Bank’s classification of low-income economies.
- IEEE ethical guidelines will be followed throughout the process.
By implementing this fee waiver initiative, IEEE IHTC 2025 aims to broaden participation and empower students from diverse backgrounds to contribute to the advancement of humanitarian technology.
